



SUMMER UPDATE: June 11, 2025
The warm temps and sunshine of late have accelerated the snow melt and we’re seeing bare ground and green vegetation at the lower and mid elevations of the Ski Area. It’s not quite totally snow-free hiking yet, but we’re getting there! The Ski Area is closed for the off-season, but for those of you looking to come up and sightsee, hike or camp in the surrounding area, here’s some info to help you plan and fuel your trip:
HEATHER MEADOWS CAFE & MOUNTAIN SHOP: Opens Friday July 4th!
Stop by our Heather Meadows Cafe this summer for a delicious lunch or a quick treat. The cafe is located on the 2nd floor of the Heather Meadows Day Lodge and features cafe-made blueberry lemonade, ice cream, cold drinks, and food items made with quality ingredients. Take your food to-go or you can eat-in while enjoying views of the meadows and mountains. The Summer Mountain Shop is located on the bottom floor of the lodge has locally designed apparel and gifts as well summer essentials like sunscreen, sunglasses and hats. View hours and details
ARTIST POINT ROAD: currently closed
Artist Point is located at the very end of Mount Baker Highway, State Route 542 and boasts 360-degree views of Mount Shuksan and Mount Baker, as well as access to a variety of trails. The road to Artist Point, 2.7 miles long and typically opens in early July. The WSDOT is currently working on clearing the snow on that stretch of road …check back here for updates on a projected opening date.
